ERICA LEAZENBY, MD, IFMCP, Chef

Dr. Leazenby (she, her, hers) is a board-certified Family Physician and a Natural Food Chef. She is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and the Natural Gourmet Institute for Culinary and Healing Arts in New York City. Dr. Leazenby has enjoyed a successful career in private practice, urgent care and public health. Over time she observed a growing need to address the whole person, and not just the disease in front of her. In order to fill this void she found in the conventional healthcare system, she began training in Functional Medicine with the Institute for Functional Medicine. In 2016, Dr. Leazenby created Relish Health and began partnering with her patients in pursuit of greater health. 

Equipped with an empathetic ear, a diverse medical background, and a passion for nutritious food, Dr. Leazenby advocates lifestyle changes and holistic therapies customized for each patient to experience their highest expression of wellness. 

Dr. Leazenby is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and an active member of the Institute for Functional Medicine, the premier educational and certifying body leading the initiatives to change the way medicine is practiced in the United States and around the world through research, education, and policy transformation. She is active teaching functional medicine to colleagues and students in her community. Additionally, Dr. Leazenby has completed obesity medicine fellowship training with the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

She is honored and inspired as the third generation in her family of inquisitive physicians that have improved patient care through creative solutions in the relentless pursuit of health. Her greatest joy is preparing nourishing food for her friends and family and seeing her patients thrive.  

Dr. Leazenby is married to her husband, David, and lives in Carmel, Indiana with their two children. She loves spending time with her extended family and is active traveling, food blogging, gardening, and with her church community.
